VSDCA - Since 1908!

Welcome to the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA)!

Our story began in 1906/07 with Melbourne’s District Cricket Competition, which evolved due to challenges in its structure. This led to the formation of the VSDCA on August 24, 1908, when delegates from eight clubs – Brighton, Caulfield, Coburg, Elsternwick, Hawthorn, Malvern, Port Melbourne, and Williamstown – unanimously decided to establish a separate Sub-District competition under the guidance of Lt. Colonel W.B. Pleasants.

Since then, the VSDCA has grown from these original eight clubs (with Hawthorn being the only one no longer part of our association) to a robust community of 32 clubs. Today, we proudly encompass around 3,700 members across 365 teams, supported by a strong Umpires Association with nearly 150 members.

Join us in celebrating our rich history and vibrant future in the world of cricket!

Phil O’Meara, elected VSDCA Chair in August 2009.
